About Inmagic^=AE=20 DB/TextWorks^=AE

DB/TextWorks is a content management system=97a type of database = software that=20 enables you to build networked and standalone textbases to manage text, = numbers,=20 dates, and electronic images. DB/TextWorks combines traditional database = power,=20 including the ability to manipulate data and perform arithmetic = calculations,=20 with the ability to handle large amounts of text. When you want to = publish your=20 textbase(s) over the Web, you need to use DB/Text WebPublisher = PRO.

DB/TextWorks also provides you with access to Inmagic.net=99, which = gives you=20 the ability to connect to the Inmagic server from within a DB/TextWorks = session=20 to accomplish various tasks related to cataloging, indexing, and = disseminating=20 information throughout an organization.

What's New in this = Version?

Upgrades must run Setup Workstation: Upgrades are = now=20 required to run Setup Workstation after installing v13. This version = was built=20 with newer Microsoft tools, with the result that newer Microsoft DLLs = are=20 needed to support DB/TextWorks. These must reside on the workstations, = and=20 workstation setup will ensure their presence. If they are not located = on the=20 workstation when DB/TextWorks is started after the upgrade, an error = message=20 such as this will appear: The application failed to start because = the=20 application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application = may fix=20 this problem.
Query logging. The ability to log queries = processed=20 by a textbase, similar to the equivalent feature in WebPublisher PRO, = is now=20 possible with DB/TextWorks. Look for "query logging" in the help = index.=20 [6281]
Export secondary textbase fields. Fields from = linked=20 textbases can be exported. [5697]
E-mail authentication. Specify a login name and = password=20 to pass to a mail server. [5599]
Run-time version. DB/SearchWorks Run-time has been = updated=20 to v13.
New help format. DB/TextWorks online help is now = using a=20 WebHelp format. This format is compatible with the newer Microsoft = operating=20 systems, and can be accessed from the server hosting DB/TextWorks in a = multi-user environment.
Larger recent-textbase = list. The=20 list of most recently opened textbases on the File menu can now = contain up to=20 15 textbases. Use Tools> Options to change your settings. = [6763]
