ADDENDUM to Inmagic^=AE DB/TextWorks^=AE v13.00 = Readme

Important Note for Upgrades

Upgrades are now required to run Setup Workstation after = installing=20 v13. This version was built with newer Microsoft tools, with = the=20 result that newer Microsoft DLLs are needed to support DB/TextWorks. = These=20 must reside on the workstations, and workstation setup will ensure = their=20 presence. If they are not located on the workstation when DB/TextWorks = is=20 started after the upgrade, an error message such as this will appear: = The=20 application failed to start because the application configuration is=20 incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. For = instructions, see the DB/TextWorks v13 Installation and Upgrade=20 Notes.

Deprecated Operating Systems

The Support Matrix, available on the Inmagic = Customer=20 Extranet, correctly indicates that Windows Server 2003 SP2 and R2 = have been=20 deprecated. When a feature or capability is deprecated it means that = although we=20 continue to test and support the capability, we expect to remove or end = support=20 of the capability in the future, and we wish to give customers and = partners=20 notice so that they may make appropriate plans.

Additions and Clarifications to Readme v13

Online Help. If the online Help says version 12, = it is=20 likely that your INMAGIC.INI file contains the setting HtmlHelp=3D1. = Change this=20 to HtmlHelp=3D0, then restart DB/TextWorks. Version 13 Help should = then be=20 available.
Query logging. Query logging in DB/TextWorks = is a new=20 feature. It is configured per textbase, by adding the following lines = to the=20 textbase.INI file. Results are written to textbase_query.LOG in the = textbase=20 folder, unless a QueryLogPath is specified. Users must have = write-access to=20 the log folder.

Query logging in WebPublisher PRO has not changed. It is configured = by=20 setting WebLogQueries=3D1 in the [WebPublisher] section of = DBTWPub.INI. (Or, for=20 the SQL platform, the [ICSWeb] section of ICSWeb.INI.) Results are = written to=20 QSETS\query.log.
Exporting linked fields. This is a new feature. To = export=20 fields from a secondary textbase, choose = File>Export,=20 check Include Linked Fields in the Export Options = dialog box,=20 then select the desired fields. (The help incorrectly states that only = primary=20 textbase fields can be exported.)
E-mail authentication. This is a new feature that = can be=20 configured in the INMAGIC.INI file.
