The Minimum Requirements for Current Inmagic Products

(for an earlier version's requirements see that version's Installation and Upgrade Notes)

Server for DB/TextWorks v.12

  • Operating System:
    Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit)
    Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit)
    Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later
  • 512 MB of RAM; 2G of RAM for Microsoft Vista
  • Disk Space: 10MB or 100MB if you need to install Microsoft Internet Explorer to support some features
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later is required for some features to work. (Note that Internet Explorer does not need to be the default browser.)
  • Can be used with any printer, video monitor, network or mouse that is supported by Microsoft Windows

Server for DB/Text WebPublisher PRO v. 12
 (Requires DB/TextWorks)
The following requirements will ensure the full Read-Write capabilities of WebPublisher PRO.

Basic Requirements
 The following requirements apply to all supported operating system and IIS combinations:
  • Intel Pentium processor, 500 MHz or higher
  • 512 MB RAM or greater
  • 10 MB available disk space (to install), 100 MB+ available (working storage)
  • The ASP (Application Development) Module of IIS must be installed for WebPublisher PRO to be able to save edits. If this module is installed, the "<"Web Server">" ISAPI and CGI Restrictions will include Active Server Pages with Restriction set to Allowed.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework versions 2.0 and 3.5 are required.
  • ISAPI or CGI (We recommend ISAPI for better performance.)
  • TCP/IP must be installed and running.
  • An IP address and/or a domain name are required. If the server is connected to the Internet, the IP address needs to be registered.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later must be installed on the server (to support XML functionality). Clients can use Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later or Firefox.

Supported Operating System and IIS Combinations
The following Microsoft operating system and IIS combinations are supported.

Operating System IIS Requirements
Windows Server 2008 SP1
(32-bit or 64-bit) 		IIS 7.0
  • Basic Requirements, plus:
  • ASP.NET (Application Development) Module.
  • IIS 6 Compatibility (a subcomponent of IIS 7.0).
  • If you will use CGI, ensure that the CGI Extension has been installed.
  • If you are planning to use Windows Authentication (Single Sign On) and/or Basic Authentication to access the WebPublisher PRO website, make sure the IIS 7.0 WindowsAuthenticationModule and BasicAuthenticationModule are installed before installing WebPublisher PRO.   • You must log in using the local Administrator account before installing WebPublisher PRO v12.00.
Windows Server 2008 R2
(64-bit) 		IIS 7.0
  • Same as above.
Windows Server 2003 SP 1
(32-bit) 		IIS 6.0
  • Basic Requirements
Windows Server 2003 R2
(64-bit) 		IIS 6.0
  • Basic Requirements, plus:
  • ASP.NET 2.0 (32-bit).
